Displayed on the left is the geometric shape given to us to modify in our own way. I decided to use the shape as the base gaskit for a novelty helicopter engine. with each petruding circle as a hole for a piston and the center holding the main shaft for the rotors.
This was the final build of the engine. This was the first time i had tried to build a helical gear, which posed a challenge as an ordinary spur gear could not be used, therefore i had to make custom gears and then loft them at an angle to achieve this.
Following this I used Fusions 'Explode' feature for the first time. As this was a mechanical project it required everything to be built in components, therefore exploding it was relatively simple. I just had to go to an animation page and auto explode all levels. After this I screen recorded the working motion and this video is featured below.
